Founded by Harley Bain, a highly experienced optometrist originally from South Africa, our practice is built on a foundation of clinical excellence, compassionate care, and a commitment to the highest professional standards.
Harley began his career in South Africa and later qualified in the UK in 1989. He honed his expertise in paediatric eye care during his time at Chase Farm Hospital, where treating children and managing complex cases became a particular passion. This specialist knowledge remains at the heart of our practice today.

Besides the meticulous care taken to ensure the best possible outcome with prescriptions, Harley has also responded in a timely and graceful way to the occasional eye-health worry (unrelated to the glasses or lenses themselves), that has unexpectedly cropped up between appointments. In this technological age, our eyes are under ever-increasing strain. How blessed we are to have such cheerful expertise, care, and integrity on our doorstep.
